The final works of the £14.2m refurbishment of Hastings Pier are to be completed over the coming weeks and the pier will be open to the public no later than the middle of May. Over the past two and half years of rebuilding work, the pier – and the weather – have rewritten the timetable more than once!
SS(F)S Ltd proudly installed Tekfllor fibre 550, 50mm grooved insulation board, underfloor heating system followed by screed board dry floor construction all completed on time and on budget.
In 2008 the pier closed completely. Much hard work by the Hastings Pier and White Rock Trust led to a successful application to the Heritage Lottery Fund although plans had to be significantly changed after the horrific fire which almost destroyed the pier on 5th October 2010. Hastings Pier Charity is now leading the reconstruction of the pier with finance from amongst others the Heritage Lottery Fund and donations and purchase of community shares by generous members of the public we plan to build a modern pier for both the people of Hastings and visitors to our town
