SELF LEVEL / RENOVATION / SELF SMOOTHING SCREEDS

Typically, Self Levelling Screed types are fast drying screeds that can be applied 0-45mm that are often cement based and ideally used to level floors or to overcoat a sub-base where a thin screed is required.

These type of self levelling screed can be pumped using a self-level pump or can be mixed by using a drill with whisk attachment and applied by trowel / rake to achieve a desired finished floor ready to receive floor finishes.

Depending on use of the building an epoxy agent can be used or if incorporated within a medium to low use environment an acrylic bonding agent can be used.

The sub-base generally needs to be contamination free with a good key to ensure the bond is sufficient for the screed. Self levelling screed types are expected to achieve a strength of 30-40N/mm2 and can be incorporated with a surface DPM to achieve earliest drying of between 2-4 hours (subject to thickness applied).
